SoCal Rock Pool

It depends on your tastes but I recommend looking at travertine or quartzite options if you want natural stone. They'll hold up very well to the salt.

I love travertine and like the look of quartzite...the issue is trying to match the house colors and style. Travertine is still on the short list. BTW- I have a good friend who lives over in Lakes/Fairhaven subdivision.

That's right behind me and shares some amenities with my neighborhood. They're the "big" section, lol!

Take a picture of what you're trying to match and maybe we can make some suggestions. [emoji5]

Well, since this is my thread and I can do what I want, here is a recent project I'm in the midst of in my neighborhood. The homeowner is installing a pool as well but he unfortunately didn't know that I have a pool building fetish at the time...I will be installing the AquaBright finish in the pool some time in October though.

I'm about a month and a half into this project from the time I started the blueprints and have spent about 6 days on the job up to this point.

I precut all my rafters...

Very deceiving but this truss is 46' long and weighed a couple thousand pounds!

Here's where those rafters I cut earlier came into play

I installed the electrical and lighting the following day

Impressive, Brian! What are the dimensions of the Lanai and how many high hat lights did you install (it looks like 8-10?). As you know, we are doing 40x16 covered patio. Always nice to have real life reference points.

14' x 66' with a 10.5' ceiling height. Unfortunately he started the pool before he decided on building the patio so the pool placement ended up reducing the size of the patio (he wanted 16' from the house).

There are 12 can lights, 3 - 60" ceiling fans, and 4 wall lights on the columns.

That garage has a 750 sq ft finished attic space that is intended to be a game room. It hasn't happened yet but it is in the plans.

That was a very fun project for me and took many late nights to get it finished.

My lot really couldn't handle something of that magnitude so I had to settle for a mini version.

And here's my patio going in that inspired the current project I'm on

Looks great!!! Totally changed the character of the house...

And I need to add a garage like that too... that's third project down the line.. curious on costs... Mine would be more like yours without the loft. I know you probably don't build in Vegas, but it would be nice to have some sort of budget.

I did the big garage for time and materials since it was for a friend. I think it came in right around 100k for 2800 sq ft and took 3 months working on it part-time. It also helped that I did everything but the stucco and drywall completely by myself. I'd imagine it would have been around 150k all day long.

The garage attached to my house cost me 25k but that's with no labor at all other than the stucco. It took some midnight ops relocating the electric panel and underground feed. It's 24'x50'
