Why not leave flow switch bypassed?

Maybe a dumb question...flow switch bad - no continuity when closed. So I twisted the wires on the phone plug and we're back. Why not just leave it that way?

Hi. It's a last ditch safety device. If the cell is on and the pump isn't moving water (like maybe the pump broke or something is badly blocked), the hydrogen gas that the cell makes can explode. Yes it can happen and has. Fix the flow switch.

I LOVE that movie! Is your SWCG wired along with your pump? If not, I wouldn’t even run it the “rigged” way. Just undo until you can replace switch.
