That is definitely an Oppossum the feet and tail are for sure a dead giveaway.There are probably more near,that one was very young,and they usually have 8-9 babies that end up surviving in a litter.
Lots of weird small animals and insects wind up in pool skimmers.

It looks like it’s been in there a while. When small rodents and animals sit in the skimmer for a long time, they lose whatever hair they have. Eventually they bloat up from water absorption. The final stages are where the flesh turn into a gelatinous goo and the create disintegrates when you disturb it.

I call that “Jello-rat” …

Pro tip : line the skimmer with a hairnet so that Jello-rat particles never gets sucked into the plumber …

It looks like there's at least three in the skimmer (two for sure). This time of year ya gotta check your skimmer basket more often. Every day, really. Spring has sprung and there are a lot of juveniles running around that are too stupid not to fall into a body or water. You don't want them decomposing in your pool water. Yuck!
