Water test

Here is the latest water test results.

All of the stab is desolved in the pool now .... 5 #'s of it ...

FC 4
CC 5
CYA 40

Have not done TA test yet. When should I check that ?

You can go ahead and test the TA about four hours after adding any chemical which might have changed the TA.

If CC is really 5 then you are going to need to shock the pool.

I will test TA tonight. What sort of number should I be looking for for a TA test ?

The ideal TA level depends on your chlorine source:

Bleach 70-90
SWG 60-80
Trichlor 100-120

Thanks for the TA numbers. Do I still need to shock the pool? If I do I will need to get more bleach when I go out later this evening ....

I think of CC of 1.0 as being marginal. It might go away in a day or two, in which case you are fine. If it doesn't go away then you need to shock the pool. You might also double check your test technique. For the FAS-DPD chlorine test, be sure the water goes completely clear in the FC phase.

Looking good. CC is down, which is great. Your TA is fine (unless you are using trichlor).
