Hi,
I’m relatively new here and have used all the great advice here to get my pool into a good zone consistently, and my CSI in a good spot.
Just for fun, I went back to pinch a penny to have them test my water and see what they say. Their results were a little off but they were doing a hard push for their suncoast ultra mineral control again. They used to have me putting in a quart every 3 months.
When I would put in a quart, it would make my pool very cloudy for days, and then my filter would be full of this gray stuff and my psi would be too high and I’d have to rinse the filter off etc.
They keep saying how important it is, and I’ve read the article and forum posts here about how you only need it with a new pool or if your metals are actually high.
Does anyone know what it’s doing? It’s clearly doing something. Something is precipitating out of the water and clogging up the filter. Is it really not necessary to do that every so often? And why not?
Scott
