For those of you who experience extended periods of extreme summer heat and water loss due to evaporation, when it comes to regularly topping your water levels off and maintaining chemistry...what does that process entail? If you add water every few days or every week, do you typically do the filling with the pump running and then test for chlorine levels using something like the OTO test or perhaps the FAS-DPD. Would you wait a while after adding water before running tests?

Thanks for the advice?

The small amount of water being added should not individually change your chemistry that much. If you continue with the testing of FC and pH daily and TA weekly you should be fine.

I add fill water every day. So it is a normal routine. I have an automated valve that handles that.

Evaporation doesn’t take any chemicals with it. The fill water may add TA, CH, and with it some pH change. So know your fill water levels. If they’re low then it’s really no net change. If it’s high then you might need to watch those levels over time.
