Stair Marking Ideas

With the color of our pool, our stairs can sometimes blend into everything and we have had a couple of guest miss a step. Just wondering if anyone has any ideas of underwater stickers or such that we could put on them. Ideally, something that would look like a marker tile in a plaster pool, but I'm open to any ideas. Thanks!

I'm not home now to get a picture, but here is the color or the pool:


I though about grip tape or like the ones you would put in a shower. I was not sure how well they would stick under water though as they all say to make sure the surface is dry before applying. I'm hoping there is something that we can apply underwater.

There are underwater epoxies than can be applied underwater. So once you find your solution, whether it is self-adhesive or not, you'll have a way to affix it.
