Hi everyone,
We live in SC and are new to a inground fiberglass salt water pool. We maintain our pool. The problem is our chlorine is low and pH is high. We now have 3 small brown spots on bottom of pool that popped out out of nowhere. We have scrubbed and they will not budge. Help!

Hello! First things first. Do you have a good test kit? You can’t maintain your pool adequately without one.

Test Kits Compared

If you do have a good test kit, please post your test numbers for us.

Also, please post a photo of pool, and of the spots, as best you can.

Welcome to TFP! Be sure to update yore signature with all of your pool and equipment info. See our sigs as example.

As for the spots, as Kelly noted, accurate water testing is step #1. In addition, try rubbing a spot with a regular Vitamin C tablet. Let us know if that does anything.
