Put a paste of Vitamin C in a sock and rub it on the stains. If it lifts it is iron staining.

Hello my friend thanks for the reply can I put tablets vitamin c or any other suggestion, still not figured out the heating of the pool yet so may need to tie to a pole.

The absorbic acid is this safe to dump in the pool would you know how much cheers

I did AA treatment on my pool yesterday and opted to completely drain and refill so that I don't have to constantly add sequestrant.

Thanks for sharing the document, do I need to remove my DF filter if opting for this option of adding AA or is it better do put vitamin c tablets in a sock even though will take a lot longer

Hi I just received this cleaner to add to the pool has anyone had any experience as it suggests you need to clean the filter after use thanks

Well, but more to it than what I thought, not sure about using this at all may have to wait until the pool warms up and put some vitamin c tablets in a sock and walk around the pool, another posting said to use shock to remove the stains

Hi all I used the Clorox cleaner attached and it have made the bottom very clean again, I did add some clarifier also afterwards so now have a cloudy pool, is it the ph out of wack or should I just run the pump for 4 hrs

Run your pump 24/7 and let your filter do its work.

Hi so the bottom stain is coming back could it be an imbalance in the chemicals I checked and all appears to be good do I need to run the pump longer daily

It sounds like you have iron in your water and iron staining is returning that is not a chemical imbalance the only way to get iron out of the water is to drain it once it is in solution or you can try and filter it with polyfill

I’m sure I know where it came from I found a screw off the screen at the bottom l, reading the document link it suggests Natural Chemistry® METALfree is an acrylic copolymer with citric acid.[8]. Is it correct it won’t effect my clarifier or do I need to add the below to soak up the iron then next filter backwash it should come out

The top sequestrants are:

  • ProTeam's Metal Magic
  • Jack's Magic The Pink Stuff (regular)
  • The Blue Stuff (fresh plaster)
  • The Purple Stuff (salt)

Filters do not filter out iron in sequestrant.

You can try using polyfill in your skimmer and see if it turns brown indicating it is catching iron. If polyfill does not catch the iron then you will need to drain the water out.
