Pressure gauge reads 0 psi

I have a Jandy CS100. Tested my gauge (and bought a new one too... just because) -- and the gauge jumps to 10psi when I apply 10 PSI.
When mounted to the canister, I get "0". There is no air in the basket strainer (on the pump) and everything is flowing fine.

There are no valves in this system. Simple, input/outlet system. Yet... Zero. No matter what I do. It worked at one time. So... what gives?

At low RPM of a VS pump, the gauge will read close to zero.

What RPM are you running at?

Have you checked the gauge reading at full speed (3450 RPM)?

Also, have you confirmed water is flowing out of the returns?

Pete,

Sometimes debris can get into the water path to the gauge.

Remove the gauge and turn the system on and see if water comes out the hole left by the gauge.

If it does, then stick the gauge back and see if it works..

Thanks,

Jim R.

Had this myself. The gauge and air relief wasn't working but I didn't have time to fiddle with it so I ordered a replacement that came before the weekend. When I opened up the filter to swap them out, the hole to the valve body was stiffed with pool brush bristles.

At that point, I replaced it anyway.

Also like Mas says, at low RPM most of us see next to no PSI.
