Hi all,
My IC60 developed a crack and is leaking. I purchased a new unit to replace it. I only used the first IC60 for one season. Is there a way to transfer the internals of the original to the new one when that one comes to end of life?

Thanks,
Steve

My guess is ice

I successfully repaired freeze damage that cracked my IC60 using Plast-aid. It bonds extremely well with PVC, and it's unbelievably strong.

Steve,

Just to be clear...

If the original system was installed by a "professional" then subsequent cell replacements can be DIY and have a 2 year warranty..

If the original system was installed by DIY, then there is no additional warranty.

All the name-brands have the same basic warranty policies.. (Jandy, Hayward, and Pentair)..

Not trying to justify their warranty policies, just stating what they are.

Thanks,

Jim R.

That's almost identical to the crack on my cell.

biggest fear with something like this is a leak would spring overnight and kill the pump.
The patch is unbelievably strong and bonds nicely with the cell's PVC.

Do you just slap this all over the unit along the line of the crack?
Yes. Maybe 1" wide centered on the crack. Here's what my repair looks like today (it's not pretty):

Mine has a crack the entire length of the body.
Should be no problem. Are the union threads cracked or OK?

I know I sound like a spokesman for Plast-Aid, but it's one of the few products that actually lives up to its claims. Watch to get started:
