Pentair 120 volt LED color light stopped working

Suddenly, one night it just didn't come on. I have checked the wiring, and it is fine. What is inside that might be a problem? It isn't the 12 volt so, no fuse as I understand. There is a board and a transformer, do they go bad?

At a loss, but don't want to have to spend $800 on a new one

$800 seems high, I think I typically spend $500-$600 tops for the larger pool sized and a couple hundred less or so for the spa sized ones, unless they've hit a supply problem like everything else is lately...

Sounds like I likely will need a new unit, going to pull it today and see what it looks like.

If I need a new one, is it better to convert to 12V? I like the idea of not having AC there.

Also, any thoughts on other brands being a better or cheaper replacement?
