Well, the pool is about the only way we can get our son to get clean. He is afraid of soap and water, so you can bet the shampoo follows him to the pool.

Hope your pool is heated during the winter months....
A little shampoo will not hurt much. It will raise your chlorine demand. And depending on the brand it might raise your phosphates (most people here won't care about that - does shampoo still contain phosphates? Maybe not the case anymore). If you get to the point were you are seeing suds, you might have a problem.
hahaha ...... well, this is the first year with the above ground pool, so, not sure if we'll take it down in the winter. When we had our 25,000 gal in ground pool, a little shampoo never hurt anything. Now it definitely clouds the water, but it clears quickly, and yes, I keep an eye on the FC.
Used to go to a rather old run down fitness center here b/c they were the only one that had a warm water pool. Saw a woman shaving her legs in the women's jacuzzi in the ladies area. Just---wow.
