New Pool Build (Another One) in Allen, TX

Ha! The only beef I had with them, is cleaning out their buckets in my yard, the pool looks great even if I do have blue patches in my yard!

Same thing happened here. I also have some aqua blue on my waterline tiles, so hopefully they take care of that tomorrow.

In other news, the deck crew came back today and addressed most of the issues. There are a few more to be fixed, but it is also getting close.

What's left: Acid wash (Tue), child fence (Tue/Thu), add entry door into bedroom (Thu), Deck fixes (?), Install Intellichem and Screenlogic (?), startup and punch list!

New to the site and living in Allen. The wife and I have also decided to build a pool we have 2 PB in mind 1 has given us a quote and design and waiting on another one next Friday. I was interested in who the people that live in the DFW are are recommending. I would like to get 2 more quotes. Feel free to PM me your builder and I reply with the 2 I'm talking to now. Thanks.

Thanks! It had been a busy last couple weeks. We had 7 yards of soil and 3 yards of mulch delivered to build a raised bed behind the pool. The 7yds were not enough. I ended up buying 110 more bags (2 cu ft each) of dirt at Home Depot, hauling 20-30 bags at a time in our minivan). We then bought a bunch of stuff to plant and did that. Then we went camping in Oklahoma this weekend. I am finally sitting still long enough to watch a little bball tonight.

Tomorrow they are coming to is a major drainage issue that the pool caused, as well as do the irrigation. Both my screenlogic an intellichem were dead out of the box (this is concerning), so those installations / fixes are still pending.

We used the spa Thurs night and tonight. It was great!

I'll try to post some pics tomorrow.

I love the color and the wall....I'm jealous at the speed in which the project finished. Everything moves slower out this way.

Here are some final pictures of the pool. The hot tub has been put to good use. I am glad we decided to pull the trigger on it. A couple lingering issues to clean up, but all in all very happy with the finished product. Thanks for everyone's advice, guidance, listening, kind words, ideas, etc! This place is awesome for those venturing into the intimidating land of a pool build.

They were going to give yours a couple weeks before making the same mod to mine. It currently works when the cleaner is running, but not when the pump flow is lower. It is doing a good job dosing acid, it seems. Glad to hear the fix worked on your system!

Thanks Heather. We really like the travertine. We had patterned concrete installed on our previous pool, and we found the deck to be slippery, and the seams in the concrete to be distracting. Done right, I think it still looks good. They did the seams poorly on our old pool. The upgrade cost for travertine was not crazy, and we had already blown our budget, so we thought, "what's a little bit more?" :)

Good luck on your build! If you want to swing by to look at anything, just drop me a PM.
