My base receiver for the remote went out after about 3years-it is exposed to the elements but was wondering if others have had similar results

You are talking about the antenna unit correct? Are you sure that is what went bad?
12+ years and still going strong for me. Mine is outside in the elements as well. I suspect we get hotter here as well so I don't think that was it.

FYI- I cut the main breaker to our pool house a couple of times (was doing work on it) and low and behold the remote started working so I guess it was a reset the aqua logic board somehow
