Ordered some today, thanksI wonder about biofilms in the pipes. Florida pool, warm water, etc.
Ahhhsome makes products for pools that might be worth a try.
Dirk, when the pump is on the junk moves around the pool quickly towards the skimmers. Unfortunately most of the stuff is submerged so the top skimmers don’t see that much. I don’t have a main drain. My four pool inputs are pointed slightly upwards and cclockwise around the pool, same as all my neighbors. Water move well.Oh, does that gunk stay still in front of the light when the filter pump is on? Or can you see it moving towards the skimmer or drain (if you have a drain that is active)?
Tried to fix signature again, let me know. Neighbors say no but they never swim after dark. I will use my skimmer socks. Thanks for all the advice. This is out of my wheelhouse. Sounds like the filter should be in order, but you might try inspecting the cartridges more closely for rips or tears. With a screen enclosure it seems that it can't be stuff floating in on the wind. Maybe others here will have some ideas. Do your neighbors have this stuff in their pool? Either do or don't would be a clue.
You might start a different thread for this gunk issue. Many here will skim over a thread title like IntelliChlor IC 20.
@mknauss, can he start a new thread, or can you move some of the posts here to a new one?
FYI:
- skimmer socks (or hair nets as Marty suggests) are fine on the skimmer basket. You would not put one on the pump basket, that might be what you were being warned about.
- "Inputs" are referred to as "returns," as in: you have four returns.
Still no signature. The signature field has a Save button. Are you seeing it, and using it?
Dirk, this is what I put in my signature. Please tell me if this is what you see. ThanksSuccess! Signature appears!! Except that's not the signature we're after. We want a list of your equipment, and the spec's of your pool. We base much of our advice on that info. And without the signature, helpers would have to ask you every time what's what, or go back through your posts and threads to find the specs. Which many of us don't have time for, and will just have to pass on helping you.
Study my signature, and try to mimic it as much as possible: equipment list, brands, models, pool type and configuration, even your test kit model, all is helpful in giving you the very best advice.
Ta da! Perfect. Thank you.Dirk, this is what I put in my signature. Please tell me if this is what you see. Thanks
