I know this post is kind of dated but,

Try resetting the address.

From the load center at the equipment:

press menu.
press up arrow (scroll) to settings, press select (right arrow)
scroll to address and press the right arrow button.
wait till display says "sending address".

From the hand held unit:

Do the same:
press menu.
press up arrow(scroll) to settings, press select (right arrow)
scroll to address and press the right arrow button to lock on to the unique address that is being sent from the outdoor panel.
wait until display says "found addressed".
press the menu button to save and exit this mode.

Now return to the outdoor panel:
press the menu button 3 times to exit the "sending address" mode.
I tried this sequence several times but my handheld remote cannot find the address. I have a new remote with the old controller and trying to connect for the first time.

Moved from here.

Dennis,

Did you buy just the remote or did you also buy the transceiver at the pad??

I think that old will not work with the new.

That said, I live in this century, so I just use my PC or phone.

Let's see what Tom has to say.. Calling @ogdento

Thanks,

Jim R.

What's the FCC:ID on the back of the remote... Easytouch or Easytouch2A? And on the transceiver card, are there 2 chips (modules) with "Linx" on them, or is there 1 with "Laird"?

the remote with fcc:id of Easytouch is older and only works with transceivers with "Linx" radio modules... pentair part 520341
the remote with fcc:id of Easytouch2a is newer and only works with transceivers with "Laird" radio modules... pentair part 520946z
