I kinda thought that ,but all the material you read about says in-ground, above ground, or both when they list application. Seems to me, how does the filter know the difference?
There is not so much difference in the filters, as in the pumps. IG pumps are designed to be self-priming and AG are not. Normally in an IG pool, the pump sits above the water level and if it loses "prime" (water in the pump and basket) will pull water out of the pool with out you having to add water to the pump. In a AG the pump sits below water level and the pump should never loose prime at water is alway there.
