De filter low pressure???

Good morning!

I opened my pool last week and notice that the filter pressure is only 12 PSI. Normally the pressure is 20 PSI. Is this a problem? or does this indicate a possible problem or malfunction? If so how can I fix it?

A few things to consider
1) Does the gauge go to zero when the pump is off? Did the gauge stay outdoors all winter? If it froze, it's ruined.
2) Did you do a breakdown and cleaning either at the end of the season or before you fired things up this year? Could be last year it was clogged and this year it's not.
3) Did you pull all the rubber plugs? If the water flow is restricted on the suction side it will have lower pressure
4) Was the pool a mess and maybe you vacuumed up some pine needles or twigs that could slip through the baskets and clog the pump impeller?
5) Do you see any air in the pump basket?

I cleaned the basket and my pressure is now 20 PSI as it should be. Thanks
