I was just wondering what the community thinks is a normal loss of fc daily in a hot tub. When not in use mine will usually drop 4-4.5 ppm daily. I also don’t have a large bather load. Typically just my wife and I a few times a week and sometimes two children. Does this seem like a lot or pretty typical. I did purge my pipes before the last refill with Leslie’s spa purge. However I didn’t use a pipe cleaner or let the water drain through the the tubs drain plug. So maybe I have biofilm? I record a .4 ppm combined chlorine level whenever I check so I don’t appear to have nasties populating in the water. Also my cya should be 30 and that was checked 2 weeks ago so I doubt it’s changed much even though I do top off weekly.

Sounds high, maybe try rinsing off before getting in but sounds like CC is above .5 ppm. Just my $.02 but I'm more knowledgeable with swimming pool chemistry than hot tub. Different beasts.

You likely have biofilms contributing to demand. I recommend Ahhsome for purging. There are many threads here on its effectiveness - several comparing it to other spa purge products & it pretty much blows them all out of the water.
