Just replaced and installed new IC20 and getting this error message. I was able to use change the % from the panel to the app, just not sure why I’m still getting this error

303,

The pump does not have anything to do with the communication to the cell, but at least it shows that not all communications are lost.

Tell us if you have an External Power Center for your cell, or is it part of an EasyTouch automation system.

Just to make sure I understand. When you use the ScreenLogic app, and change the cell's output, you see a corresponding change at the cell's sanitizer lights. Is that true?

Does the cell report the salt level back to ScreenLogic?

When you put your EasyTouch into the Service mode, do all the lights on the SWCG turn off??? (They should...)

Thanks,

Jim R.

303,

When you connected the cell was all the power off to the whole EasyTouch.

The cell has RS-485 chips inside that communicate with the EasyTouch. If you connect or disconnect the cell with power on, it can blow up the chips.

Here is a quick test of the RS-485 to see if everything else is working. Use ScreenLogic and turn on a light. Confirm that the light icon is green. Go out and confirm that the light is actual on. Then using the outside main panel, push the button to turn off the light. Confirm the light is off. Confirm that the ScreenLogic light icon is off.

If that works, then the RS-485 is working. If the cell will not connect it could be...

The Cell itself
The Surge Card that is where the DC power and RS-485 are sent to the cell
The cable between the EasyTouch and the Surge Card.

If you have an internal Surge Card it will be at the back of your EasyTouch and look like this...

If your old cell was communicating before you took it off, you could try it and see if it will communicate.

What was wrong with your old cell??

Thanks,

Jim R.

The first test worked. This is what I see

303,

I don't see anything obviously wrong.

What is the extra transformer in the middle of the EasyTouch for?? It is not normal..

It would not hurt to spray some contact cleaner in the SWCG connector where the cell plugs into the EasyTouch. Look on both sides of the connector for any corrosion.

Thanks,

Jim R.
