I'm not planning on closing my new pool this winter as I'm in Texas. However, I'm not sure if I should keep the pool cleaner in or take it out. What do you all think?

Depends on how dirty you want your pool to look. Likely no need to leave it in all the time, just run it when you need to.
Mine will stay open also, but it will drive me crazy to see it dirty. I have ordered an inexpensive cover to put on during the height of leaf season, but then will pull it back off and keep it clean. I have a robot and it is always in/out.
As Jason said, just put it en when it bothers you that it is dirty.
