New Pump

Hi everyone...

Good to be back on the Forum...weather is getting nice in NJ and I'm a week or two away from opening my pool. At the end of the pool season, I managed to run my pump dry and burnt the motor. I am now looking to get a new motor and was hoping for some suggestions.

I have an above ground pool, 5' x 27' equating to approx 20k gallons i think. I have a skimmer on one side and a bottom drain and have one pump/sand filter.

sounds about right. i had a 1.5 HP pump whcih was already with the house when I bought it three years ago. I was wondering if any brands or types are advised.

just make sure you get the right motor, 2-speed motors are either 115 or 230 no switch. You'll need to figure how you'll want to change the speed, a timer or toggle switch. If your pump housing is ok, you may just need a new seal kit.
