algae outside pool

I was a new pool owner this summer and was very fortunate to find this site immediately. The pool is about 30 years old. There is a concrete lip that slightly overhangs around the pool edge. We live in Florida and have a lot of rain. There are several places around this lip that always seem to have algae/mold growing. It gets worse we have a lot of rain.

Any ideas to stop or control this?

Strong bleach solution and a little scrubbing will probably control it.

With the bleach, or with the scrubbing? As long as your FC is at or below shock value for your CYA level, the bleach will be fine.

Use a mixture of bleach (1 part), vinegar (1 part) and water (10 parts) in a spray bottle. Heavenly spray the mixture onto the lip and scrub with a toothbrush.
