Gluing PVC piping

I am performing a filter cleaning on a Sta Rite s8d110 and have dissembled the grids. While doing this I managed to separate the interior PVC piping (yeah I couldnt believe it either) where it was glued to the filter grid upper support arm. The glue that is there is gray in color, can I just use PVC glue to glue it back?

I figure sprinkler PVC glue should work, yes?

In the diagram part "B" at the lower end where the PVC is glued to the threaded part is what separated.

I would call the mfg and see if they'll tell you what plastic they used to make the parts. That'll give you a better chance to get an adhesive/solvent that will work correctly.
