While working on a rent house today I found that the DE filter pressure was a little high and that the "No Flow Light on the IC40 SWCG was Red..

Pump is running about 1,200 RPM, so I crank it up, but there is no joy. Still no green flow light. There appears to be plenty of flow coming out the returns, but I disassemble and clean the filter anyway.

While in there I take the IC40 out to visually check the flow switch. It is gone!!

Found it, stuck in between the SWCG plates. Ordered a new one. I hope it did not do any damage to the circuit.

Is this common? IC40 is about 3 years old and out of any warranty.

Thanks,

Jim,

Not common but definitely have heard of this happening before.

Did anyone bend the flow switch to make it trip at lower flow?

The bend point in the flex arm will be the weak link and where corrosion can and will happen (i.e., stress-corrosion cracking). Should be a quick fix for a pro like yourself...
