Adding and removing water at same time?

CYA is up to 120, so I'm going to empty some of the water from my pool.

I was thinking of pumping water out at the same time i'm filling it.

Thoughts?

Unless you segregate the water with a tarp or some other method to avoid it mixing together, you'll be pumping out new water with the old and will not have as much effect on the CYA PPM.

Thats what I figured.

I was hoping I was wrong.

Effectively, you can certainly do it, it's just going to require more water than if you did a drain and then a fill separately.
