Can the liner have a shallow side?

I'm putting up a 10ft. by 30in. intex Above Ground pool. It's a metal frame pool and I am being careful to put all the framing posts level to each other. I'm doing this by digging a little area for each post on the high side so they are level with the other posts. Must I dig out all of the ground on the high side? I' thinking of leaving it alone so that one side will be about 26in. deep and the other will be 30in. Keeping in mind that the upright posts will be level.

If the top of the posts are level....i.e...the top of the liner is also level, then once you get past filling the "sloped" area....your water will still be level all the way around. Always better to dig down than build up.
