Hayward propane pool heater

I have a Hayward universal h series 150,00 btu propane heater and just wanting to know if I need a regulator from my tank to the heater ?

If your tank has a high pressure regulator on it, yes.

You have two systems for propane. One lowers the pressure to the appropriate WC (water column) at the tank and has the right size line going to the heater (single stage system). The other is what we call a 2 stage system. The regulator at the tank sends propane to the heater at approximately 10psi into a regulator that drops the pressure to the appropriate WC. Ask your propane supplier which one you have.
