190 gal spa. I have my pH in range, but TA is low. Is that a concern? If I try to raise my TA, my pH will rise. Which is more important to focus on?

CYA 40. It was a new fill. We had a new liner put in.

why would I want to add borates to the pool?

But why would you need to add acid after the borax? Can't you add borax alone to raise pH?

Is it possible that my pool math is broken? If I set it at 17 it says the same thing. If I refresh the page the gallons go to 17 and I have to type in the comma and 3 0's. And it still says the same.

It's at 7. I'll leave it be then. But I still wondered what would happen if you only added borax and no acid.

Can I add only borax without adding the acid? What would happen? I tried pool math and got that 60 oz borax would raise pH by 385.6. Is that ppm?

how much will 1 tsp liquid chlorine raise FC in a 190 gal spa

I have a 190 gal. spa. My CYA is 30. If I start a soak at 4ppm and I get out after 1 hr., how much liqud chlorine do you think I should put in?

Do you prefer a blue bubble cover or a clear one and why? Also, what mil? I had a 16 mil and it was just too heavy and didn't last more than 2 seasons. Is an 8 mil too thin?

So I wonder why the manufacturer doesn't want us using liquid chlorine? Also, the manual states that all chemicals should be added into the filter area. So you think it would be okay to add it in front of a running jet?

My CYA was WAY to HIGH over 100! So, I emptied the spa and refilled it. I understand that I want 20-30 CYA in my spa. It won't take long for me to use dichlor to get CYA up to that. Then what? If I continue to use dichlor granules, the CYA will skyrocket again. Even if I empty and refill...

I push my cover (sort of does an accordian pleat thing) to one side and bungee tie it in several places to hold it there. Works great. No reel needed! Never gets hot as it floats on the water.

I guess I don't understand why you need algaecide. Chlorine will kill the algae. If you shock your pool, you are shocking with chlorine. Shock with liquid chlorine and it will get rid of it.
