I am looking into a spa and want to know am I better off purchasing standalone spa or how difficult and pricey it may be to add to existing in ground pool. I appreciate input

I assume if no paint then I should replaster? Can I add the color to it? How much am I looking at to replaster? Roughly 32k gallon pool. Not sure when it was last replastered but definitely not in last 9 years

I am looking to paint my gunnite pool with epoxy based paint. Looking to paint it from natural white/concrete color to more of a royal blue color to hide dirt a little better and to also help heat pool better. Any recommendations for choosing an epoxy paint? TIA

Fighting a get slimy algae this opening and cartridge filter appears to be getting dirty very quickly (every 24 hours). Do I clean everyday or continue to run. SLAM process is taking more time this year but need to also do a better job at maintaining it

Re: Help me see the bottom of my pool! According to pool math you need to bring up FC to 10 during SLAM and maintain that. CYA and pH appear good to begin SLAM. Go stock up on liguid bleach.

I do usually only add liquid bleach. However speaking from experience, I know that pucks add CYA and since line was already missing CYA I added a few to speed up the process. Once CYA is correct, I will resort to only bleach again.

A quick update. I bought a test kit for ammonia tonight just to ensure I did not have that issue. Turns out I do not have ammonia which makes me wonder if I did not have it at one point earlier. Anyhow, my plan is to add a few chlorine pucks, add in stabilizer to bring my CYA to 30 and then...

I would go ahead and check CYA and pH so that you can get ready for a SLAM.

I have read that a number of elbows can restrict flow so design in it in a way that minimizes them. Other than that I will be adding in unions for easy maintenance.

Going back to another thread where I indicated by sand filter barrel cracked, can I just turn jandy valve so that water does not go through filter and run pump until new filter arrives? I had started to SLAM again before shutting things back down once filter blew out.

so after fixing my pressure or so I thought, I started slamming pool again when pressure went up so I backwashed at night, then rinsed. Upon switching back to filter, I hear this loud spraying and low and behold my tank has apparently cracked at the base and it started blowing sand and water...

Update: Finished deep clean, re-drained filter and then leveled it. Put in new gauge and thus far it is good. Much better water pressure regardless and after backwashing and rinsing to start filter is running at about 25 PSI to start. So I am going to go back to SLAM and get rid of this...

A few quick additional observations: Deep cleaned filter today rather easily. Water was mostly clear though it had a little foam to it for a bit. Gauge was broken so I need a new gauge. I noticed sand in it too. Not sure if that means anything I also noticed that the filter itself is not...

Where you have the black X is the way it is normally configured and set to off. It is set to off that way now and I still have the issue described above. Thanks again guys for the comments. I will report back tomorrow after deep clean but I appreciate the assistance.
