    Another New Guy with Issues

My bro in Houston has the same stonework around his spillover hot tub and he had the same scaling. He used a 50/50 mix of MA, green scrubbie pad and elbow grease. It eventually came off.

Safety of putting bleach into the pool

Liner failure. Ridiculous, those pool stores will say anything to get you to buy stuff. Use bleach. Your liner will be fine. Why hasn't the guy who originally started this thread responded, replied, said "thanks" for the answer to his question. Drives me crazy.

Well, where's the update on how the party went? Did the pool become a toilet? Did the bachelor and bachelorette get thrown in the pool? Who threw up first? Who was thrown into the pool first? Who passed out first and became "tattooed"?

Be careful, a duck is protected by the Federal Migratory Bird Treaty of 1918 and they don't qualify as a nuisance. You should contact your nearest Texas Parks and Wildlife Office and see what they say first before you try to pellet it.

    Filter operating cost?

Amps X voltage divided by 1000. That sum X your cost per kilowatt hour. That sum is the cost, in dollars and cents, to run your pump per hour. Multiply that sum X the number of hours you run your pump. This is the daily cost. Daily cost X 30 will compute your monthly cost. Example: 11...

Silly idea about raising bottom? Or is it ok? Please advise.

I don't believe this is a child safety issue. That's what responsible adults and lifejackets are for. A person could drown in as little as 2 inches of water. Save your energy and the money for another project.

I bought a filter combo from them as well, good prices! My water is crystal clear and that's with a 55 sq. ft. filter. Your's will be almost double that. You'll probably be able to go all season without cleaning it. I didn't clean mine until the middle of summer. It didn't need it though, I...

I had the same problem with my old sand filter. I would vac and after a few minutes, I could see dirt returning to the pool. I took the valve off and checked the sand bed, it seemed deep enough and there was no channeling. I backwashed it and continued vacuuming. After a few minutes dirt was...

    Pool Pillows

You need one. Don't inflate it until is is firm. The pillow needs to be able to "crush" to take up for the expanding ice in the pool, if ice forms. I use one pillow tethered in the center of an 18' AG.
