    Swimming Pool Start-up and Closing

I am trying to understand my pool’s plumbing. When my pool was closed for the winter two years ago (I didn’t open my pool last summer), I believe that the three grey inground pipes (see photo) all had their caps unscrewed and removed. Yesterday I removed the cap on the far left pipe and nothing...

    Help with Plumbing Identification

I started to open my pool yesterday. I opened the plug in one of my skimmers and replaced the three plugs for the pump return in the pool with the directional plastic jets. When I went to my mechanical area I saw that the pool was losing water through one of the pipes shown in the attached...

I live in southeast Connecticut and my winter pool cover need to be replaced. I inherited the old cover, which is very tired and hole ridden, when I bought my house 18 months ago. I have done some initial web searching and it seems as though a lot of covers are ordered by pool owners through the...

    Finding the backwash discharge exit

Pat: Thanks for your response. I switched the filter to waste and opened the red valve and ran the pump for a while but did not see where it discharges. My yard slopes away from the pool mechanicals and the white pipe goes into a concrete footing along with two other pipes which appear to be...

    Finding the backwash discharge exit

Friends at Troublefreepool: I recently bought a house with a pool and have some questions about my pool mechanical systems: (1) I have a Triton II sand filter and cannot figure out where the backwash discharge exits. I have attached two photos to show my system. Note that in photo 2 the valve...
