Good Evening Everyone. Just a quick update....... FC - 5.0 CC - 0 CYA - 80 PH - 7.2 TA - 90 CH - 550 First off, I was out of town for a few days....Added 96oz of 10% Bleach to get that FC back towards 10. Pretty much everything you all have said has been true. I've been letting the PH get to...

    TF-100 Newbie

Great info. 2 questions: 1) Should I first concentrate on lowering my CYA by doing a partial drain and refill? I know that will probably affect all my numbers. After I do that I can retest and get everything on par. 2) I remember hearing that it wasn't good to add too much muriatic acid at one...

LOL.....That's why this Forum is great!! I just saved myself a ton of frustration by asking one question that I thought might be a dumb one. The drops are completely different now that I removed the top and cleaned it. I never knew those were removable? I always wondered how you got the liquids...

I gave the bottle just a small squeeze to clear out any blockages. Seems to be normal for now. Performing the CH again. I'll be in touch shortly.

I use the R-0010 just like every other bottle. It surprised me at first. I'll see if I can get a video? I wonder if that's part of my issue?

Also, before I perform the test again, I notice the drops from the R-0010 are much smaller and come out a lot faster than the other bottles. Is that normal?

Before I perform the CH test again, let me get clarification on the speedstir. I do have one (it's pretty sweet) and I tried both with and without. Should I use the speedstir for the CH test?

    TF-100 Newbie

Thanks to Everyone who helped answer my earlier question about Shock. Appreciate the help. Those answers led me to purchasing the TF-100 Test Kit. I have a 15,000 Gallon Freshwater Pool here in Arizona. Water looks great by the way. I started with the basic tests and I do have Chlorine present...

    Shock My Pool??

Thanks Oly, I'll start by upgrading my test kit to the TF-100 and make sure to start monitoring CYA closer. I'll download and print the Chart as well. In the past I've been draining the pool every 4 years or so due to high CYA. Like I told Leebo, I'll work on the ABC's of pool chemistry next.

    Shock My Pool??

Great Video Leebo, for a newbie it makes sense. I haven't fought algae in quite some time. And when I did, it was totally my fault. ABC's of pool chemistry next. No questions as of yet. Thanks again.

    Shock My Pool??

Good Evening, Newbie here. I appreciate your help in advance. I live in Avondale, AZ and have a 15,000 Gallon Freshwater Pool. How Would a Variable Speed Pump Work With My Setup??

I can't lie, those are some pretty sweet features you guys have. Let's just assume I'm not ready for that step...yet.

How Would a Variable Speed Pump Work With My Setup??

But don't I have to run the pool pump a certain amount of time to turn the water over? How would I switch between popups and the returns/waterfalls in the middle of the night?

How Would a Variable Speed Pump Work With My Setup??

Good evening Guys, I want to upgrade/replace my pool pump. I currently have a 1 1/2 HP Hayward Super II. I hear a lot of people saying to get a variable speed pump but I'm new to them and I don't understand how they would work with my current setup. Right now I run my pump about 10 hours during...

Need Help Recommending a Cartridge Filter

Good evening Guys, I have a 16,500 gallon in-ground pool. Backwashing my sand filter is a pain in the rear because I have to run the hose all the way to the front yard and use the sewer clean outs (which of course are hidden under bushes) . Because of that, I want to switch to a cartridge style...

    I Think I Want a New Pump & Filter...Help Me Decide

Thanks for the heads up and opinions guys. Yes, the HOA frowns upon it...of course. The pool is 15,000 gallons. It has 2 water falls but they can't run at the same time as the pop-ups. Basically you can choose between the water falls or the pop-ups. And yes, I agree 100% that the current...

    I Think I Want a New Pump & Filter...Help Me Decide

Good evening guys, The info I read could be wrong so bear with me. From what I read on the net, Cartridge Filters do not get backwashed but Sand Filters do? If that is true, then I would like to change out my sand filter for a cartridge filter. The reason being, It is extremely difficult to...
