    Algae battle!!! How to win?

It seems that Im always battling a little bit of algae in my pool, what I call a 5 o'clock shadow! Otherwise the water is clear but I feel that I am needing to brush away algae a little too often. I check my water balance daily and today I went to pool store to confirm my numbers. They are as...

How do i confirm DE powder bypassing filter into pool???

How do i confirm DE powder bypassing filter into pool???

Thanks for the prompt reply. The filter is Hayward DE4820. The MPV is SP0710XR50. The gasket was an Amazon seller part seen in the attachment. I actually replaced all the filter elements using Pleatco PFS2448 a few years ago as there was some rub out of the filter fabric at the bottom of one or...

How do i confirm DE powder bypassing filter into pool???

Last year i started to notice 2 things - a small leak out of the MPV waste port of my Hayward de filter while in filter mode and a sense that i had a constant presence of "silt" at the bottom of the pool. This year I replaced the spider gasket, the old one looked fine but did it anyway. well...

Ph was high at pool closing, do I need to do anything?

I closed my pool in mid October and balanced my pool properly before but for some reason when i added the winterizing chemicals the Ph shot up. I never bothered to check the Ph after chemicals in the past. Is this normal? Does it dissipate in time?

    Liquid winterizer pH???

I bought a pool winterizing kit for my 25k gallon in ground pool. Before applying the chemicals I set my water within specified range. The pH was approx 7.4. After applying the liquid winterizer the pH shot up way beyond 8.2 on the top of the scale. This is very alarming. Looking for an MSDS...

    Green algae nuisance

The summer has been trouble free, until now. In the last month we have had some crazy weather on Long Island. Torrential rains and now extended heat and humidity. Green algae has started to be a nuisance. Pool looks great but I notice spots of algae on walls and bottom. I brush it away, pool...
