I would have opted for a variable speed pump. And although I like a cartridge filter over sand, I wish I had the cartridge filter drain plumbed in such a way to allow me to drain water from the pool. Right now, my cartridge filter drain port just has a solid cap on it.

I was thinking metals as well. My pool did this before after using powder shock. Water turned green but was perfectly clear. After adding a metal sequestrant, the green tint went away in about 30 minutes.

There’s no way your test is accurate. That’s over 350 lbs of calcium chloride in a 20k gallon pool. According to pool math calculator, adding that much calcium chloride to a 20k gallon pool should raise your calcium hardness by 1909!!

Silicon spray also works great on the retaining ring threads of my cartridge filter. And by that, I mean, put silicon spray on the threads and ring the next time you remove it. It will make putting it back on much easier as well as future removal.

That's probably a good thing. It implies that once the water stretches the liner against the walls, your wrinkles should go away.

Maybe its nothing and once enough water is added, it will stretch out the wrinkles but I think I would have also stopped the filling until the contractor can take a look tomorrow.
