Have always been interested in a smart stir, but have never followed up with one. Which brand does everyone use? That is one of the issues I have with drop tests is dropping, shaking and counting, while also trying to see a change in colour etc Cheers, John

Yes, Apera is a lot more of a pro setup than what I seem to have. I got minimal instructions and certainly no mention of keeping the probes moist with my brand. Cheers, John

I'm getting that idea. No solution to keep mine in. I wash it off with distilled water and airdry it. But I do check the calibration on it frequently. Seems like a plan. I was looking at your brand of tester. Cheers, John

Thanks for that information, there are certainly lots of toys to look at there that's for sure. I have just received my Clear Choice Labs test kit, but as usual, have had to ask someone else to check the results for me. So I will be looking at the pH tester you have recommended. Cheers, John

Hi James thanks for the reply. On my previous test last week my TA was reading 55 and was advised to add some PH buffer and then some acid. Well my TA rose by 2 points but my PH dropped by .4 after the acid. I agree I do need to get a decent test kit for myself and will be on my shopping list...

Thanks AUSpool for your response. Yeah being colourblind has had its challenges but in the overall scheme of things, I could think of far worse things to have to live with. And yes these days I rely on the daughter to do my ph testing as she is now old enough to appreciate helping the old man...
