Looking to move on from Frog BAC PAC system…

I’ve had the frog system since I installed it when we moved into the house 8ish years ago. Has been a good system once the pool was up and running. But at $30 a cartridge now that last 3-4 weeks it’s getting pricier every year. So once this cartridge is done I want to switch to the system you...

    Trouble with SLAM’ing

So my pool went green so I immediately started the SLAM process. I dumped 3 bottles of shock in last night and this morning it looks a lot better. Something just ain't right...

Pool water clarity just isn't looking right the last few days, but the numbers all seem to be in check. Water has a cloudiness to it and a slightly green tinge. I wanted to check here first before i SLAM it and render the pool out of commission as we head into a HOT weekend.

    Hayward Diver Dave problem solved??

We purchased Diver Dave about 5 years ago when we purchased our home which had an above ground pool. Well, Dave hasn't always worked the greatest since day 1 which resulted in me usually getting frustrated and just pulling him from the water and vacuuming manually. His feet, flaps and...

Which solar cover strap kit do you recommend?

When we tossed our solar cover at the end of last season due to it disintegration, we forgot to salvage the clips/rope that worked with our cover reel. Our reel is mounted across the center of our 24' round above ground pool. The old kit was the Horizon Ventures which has the plastic clips...

Went on vacation and the pool went south :(

Left on the 4th for a 5 day weekend only to come home to a dark green pool :( So Monday morning at 6am i started SLAM'ing with 12.5% since the water was so dark green you couldn't see you hand 6in into it. By Monday afternoon the water already looked a ton better. Added some more 12.5%...

    Doughboy skimmer basket...cheaper alternative?

So i've got an older doughboy pool and the original skimmer basket was destroyed. The last 2 years i was using a different basket that the previous home owner had laying around which worked fine as well. That's now breaking and falling apart. It looks like the 1300-1002 basket is darn near...

Hayward H150 millivolt heat exchanger repair

Been trying to get this heater up and running since buying the house. Replaced the pilot assembly and got that working. Opened the valves to let water into the heat exchanger before I tried igniting the main burners and suddenly saw water blowing out the side opposite of the inlets. Ripped...

Installed rigid piping this year, looking for feedback

So after spending my weekend up north building a deck on front of my camper i came home sunday night at 4pm to 80 degree weather (rare for may in WI) with some ambition left to start a rigid plumbing project on the pool with hopes of having it ready for memorial weekend (I can dream right!)...

Think it's time for a new cartridge...

So i've got a Aqua Tools cartridge filter on my pool (came with house) and i think it's time for a new one. The pressure of the water coming out at the nozzle in the pool at the end of last season was pretty dismal, but when i closed up the pool for the winter the filter was pretty dirty. I...

Solar cover sticking to itself causing unwinding issues...

So i just bought a 10mil (24ft diameter)blue solar cover for the pool that is at our newly purchased home. The previous owner installed the reel onto the edge of the pool directly at center across the widest point. I bought the string and clips to connect the cover to the reel. So the cover...

How long does it take to heat a pool?

So i've owned a non-permanent Intex pool in the past but we've recently bought a house with a permanent above ground pool which has a gas heater. I did not plumb the heater in when i opened the pool because the thought of heating a pool in WI climate rings $$$$ in my mind. But after a somewhat...

Did 1st test of season, not sure what method to follow...guidance please!!

So i brought a TF 100 kit last season and had very minimal maintenance with the pool aside from occasional chlorine and adding a sock full of something (don't recall chemical name). So i left the pool half full through our WI winter and opened it about 2 months ago. I shocked it and it cleared...

    Kokido V-Trap Review

Just wanted to share some feedback on this unit that I purchased about a month ago. I bought this to use on my 18’ x 48” Intex Ultra Frame with the 1500gph pump/filter. 2400gph 13" Sand Filter/Pump Review

Just wanted to share some feedback on a recent pump I purchased. My pool is a 18’x48” Intex Ultra Frame that had the stock 1500gph filter on it, and to say the least I was frustrated with it. Now I live in the country with zero trees to worry about and the pool is in the sun the entire...

    Just bought a 2400gph 3/4hp sand pump...now what?!

So i just ordered up this pump yesterday to replace the intex filter pump unit that came with the pool. The intex unit was just clogging way to fast (every 2-3 days) and within minutes if i hooked up my vaccuum. Any suggestions on what sand to use? Any other watchouts when converting over?

Can i use a vac on my pool??

Is there a way to hook an actual vacuum up to my pump (see my signature) so i can clean the bottom? The attachment that you hook the hose and mesh bag to just isn't catching all the fine stuff. Please advise what i need. Thanks Matt

So i've had our Intex Ultra Frame 18'x48" (AG), 6,423 gallons, with the stock 1500gph pump/filter for about a year now and i'm ready to move up to the next size. The pump i've been looking at is this one...
