Hot Spring Freshwater IQ 2024

So …. They have created an even shorter life - more disposable sensor? That’s the magic invention?
Sounds about right. Along the same lines as their quickly disposable cells. The idea being throw them away instead of maintaining them.

We all knew this was a huge possibility when we first heard about the “new”technology they were about to unleash to the consumers.

$1300.00 to install sensor it comes with salt system in the cost of the tub
If it works well and last for several years, the price might be worthwhile, but if it is not reliable, then it is not worth it.

However, it is a pretty high price compared to a good test kit.

If the cost is $1,300 per year, then that is quite high for a relatively small convenience.

You still need to test frequently anyway to verify the FC and CC.

What is the expected replacement time and what is the cost for replacement?

As the below graph indicates, the pH and ORP both need to be accurate for the chlorine PPM to be accurately calculated.

I’m not looking forward to explaining why it does this or doesn’t do that. They are putting the time frame of up to 10-12 months on the sensor. The salt cell replacements don’t last as they say so we estimate every two months,so two 3 packs a year at 325 each.Watkins says only needs to be drained and refilled yearly, but we factor two drains so that includes two Vanishing Acts at 85 each.So I agree the price is high but they figure that demographic wants ease of use over cost of product.

This is my thought as well.
A niche market- more for the “money is no object” & the “I can’t be bothered” crowd. Both of which I will probably never belong to 🤣
Different strokes for different folks!
I just hope it doesn’t end up going horribly wrong leading people to dose their expensive tubs with acid or soda when they shouldn’t leading to corrosion or scale which is a real heartbreaking downside to these types of systems. Especially ones where the customer is the guinea pig 🥴

Not sure we don’t even have them in our system yet I have the part numbers I will post later today when I get home.
It’s been crazy busy here today with our spring sale.
It’s amazing how little people understand about chemicals and equipment

I completely agree not to mention the customer service aspect dealers have to deal with.I have excellent relationships with a lot of our regular customers and want to keep it that way.
I feel this puts us in a situation where we have to attempt to explain why it is doing what or not doing. Its all In the name (IQ )so I can pretty much just get ready for the aftermath of this unveiling.

Here are the different part numbers for the start up kit for the sensor and the salt

Our first shipment of sensors comes tomorrow or Monday. We have the complete kits (80201)already but the sensors (80202)by themselves are just arriving very soon.
Watkins is supposed to get them to us before anybody else gets them but looks like they fibbed to us.
Never surprised anymore with companies these days they do what they want and don’t care.

It looks like they have about 5 different spa brands.

Yes we sell Fantasy Spas also(the plug and play 110 versions) Endless Pools, and they just acquired Finnleo Sauna(also Helo formerly known as TylerHelo Saunas)last year.
Masco is a multi billion dollar company as you know so increasing value of brand is their first and only position.
Unfortunately money makes the world go round and we are all just the little huddled masses that make that happen for them.
Thank you for all your responses, input and research on this @JamesW
It is greatly appreciated for sure,

The system notifications haven’t come on in several days .
The chlorine says still on low side but doing drop test shows 4-5 on chlorine levels.Have salt output on 3,system updates hourly and has a 24 hr cycle once a notification has occurred.
The sensor indicator at the very top of range, salt cell level shows middle of range and it’s only been in the hot tub for several weeks.
Will continue with updates to keep you all informed.
