Any chemicals needed?

Cloudy? Tell us about your pump run time......how often. What is clean psi and current psi
Pump run time is 6 hrs /day. The pressure gauge was not working and I replaced it. But the new one was also not working. When removing it air is coming out with pressure so don’t think there is a block. Left it at that…anything I can check?

Thank you for the suggestion. I have updated my signature. Do not have pool heater so it has been around 50’s since winter. Stopped my weekly pool service recently.
Same,
Thanks for adding the signature and great move on the pool service. It's really not that hard these days especially with swg to have a great looking pool with out a service. How are you measuring salt levels? The swg readings on salt can be very inaccurate and this test is the most accurate at a reasonable cost. I would get a Taylor K1766 test kit for salt. There's no better way that's practical for pool owners and it'll last forever. Once you get the salt level established use Pool Math to figure out how much to add. I like adding in the shallow end. This way if there's any undisolved you can easily swish it around with a brush to dissolve it. And if you use softener salt (perfectly fine so long as there are no additives) sometimes there's a little sand at the bottom that's easy to vacuum up in the shallow end.

I hope this is helpful.

Thanks Chris for the helpful suggestions! I recently bought an electronic salt tester but received lot of recommendations for the Taylor K1766. So returning the device and getting the Taylor test kit. I bought the Morton solar salt 40lb from home depot. Hope that works.

Oh! Did not know that. Will buy the Diamond crystal next time…
The dolphin will find the junk and suck it up. Make sure not to turn on the salt cell for 24 hours so the salt mixes in well. Undiluted salt can harm the salt cell that's why it's recommended to dump on the floor in the shallow to keep it far away from the main drain and easier to brush too.

If your water is "cloudy" that's likely a filtration issue and I would suggest you run the pump 24/7 until it clears up. 2 bad pressure gauges in a row is a red flag. Having a working pressure gauge is a must.

Get a working pressure gauge, run your pump 24/7 and clean your filter as necessary

+1. I rigged up a 5 gallon bucket stuffed with poly fill as a filter, but the municipal water was still nasty green and brown

The green and brown came out in a couple days but the haze from all the dirt blowing in was a never ending battle until the patio went in and the new grass started growing. Then it took a week or two to polish the water the rest of the way.

It was hazy during the day but really noticeable at night with the light on.

While yours isn't a new fill, it may be behind on filtering just the same. It takes time and patience if everything else is balanced.
