Ok I will push it higher and see how hard it is to maintain. If I go to 5 and it drops to 2 then that’s 3/4 of a gallon a day. Is that what you would expect? Is there any reason to believe that granular chlorine lasts longer?

@cowboycasey thanks for this tip. I used the muriatic acid today to do my spa with a small wire brush. It worked well. I may try the main pool in a similar fashion when it cools off.
