    Clorox platinum meltdown cartridge filters

Anybody try these? They come in sizes for all different cartridge filter pumps including intex. Filtration down to 3-5 micron. Was thinking of relaxing my intex filters with these https://www.cloroxpoolfilters.com/general-6

Fresh fill and water has green tint

Update: It’s definitely changing to a better color. I’m just not sure if it was the jacks magic purple I added yesterday or the fact that I haven’t added chlorine since Tuesday. It was 16ppm Tuesday and I let it come down to 9ppm as of this morning. We went on vacation last weekend and I set the...

    Talk to me about Polyfill…

What does lowering the ph do for a pool with green tinted iron water, thanks?

Fresh fill and water has green tint

No tub water isn’t green. It’s only noticeable in the pool once it gets a foot or so filled. The water comes from the water company with chlorine in it already. I should try testing it tomorrow see how much? And there’s also that calciquest additive which I believe is what’s making it so...

Fresh fill and water has green tint

Yes, it came straight from the hose like that. At first it looked normal then once it got a foot or so filled you could start to see the green tint.

Fresh fill and water has green tint

Test results as of today: Fc-11 Cc-0 Cya-70 Ph-7.5 Salt-3400 Ta-not sure have to check I have an intex 2500 cartridge filter, no waste option. The poly fill was always clean. Only thing that got some brown out when i squeezed into a bucket was a double sock rigged up filter. Gave up on this as...

Fresh fill and water has green tint

The jacks magic purple is coming tomorrow. Like I said, I just want the color gone at this point. I stopped the sock/poly filtering as it wasn’t doing anything noticeable. I do have a culator in the cartridge and it has been slowly getting an iron color but im not expecting much from it. I...

Fresh fill and water has green tint

I get what everyone’s saying not to worry but the water looks unappealing. I have 2 make shift filters going almost 24 hours a day with double socks stuffed with poly. When I squeeze them out brown water comes out but it’s painfully slow process that I doubt at this rate will be done by labor...

Fresh fill and water has green tint

I’ve made a few posts recently about my pool having green tint water right from the spighot. I did some research and the town water company adds a few things to treat the water, one of them being calciquest. Quick google search says it’s “it is manufactured with the highest quality phosphates...

Fresh fill and water has green tint

So I did some research on the water company that supply’s the neighborhoods water. They list what chemicals they use to treat the water. One of them was ‘calciquest’. Googled it and found out it’s a sequestrant which explains why it’s been so difficult to get the iron out. I have 3 filters...

Fresh fill and water has green tint

So I did some research on the water company’s website. They add sodium hypochlorite, caustic soda to raise ph AND calciquest (phosphate compound). I looked this up and it’s a sequestrant which must be why i cannot filter it out. I guess I’ll have to wait for it to break down then maybe I’ll be...

Fresh fill and water has green tint

I’m on my 3rd drain/refill in 2 weeks and I’m getting green tinted water straight from the spigot. This is treated water from the town water company. I have no idea what they put in it. I’ve been doing the polyfll since yesterday and no change at all. I put the chlorine to 5ppm, cya is 40...

Fresh fill and water has green tint

The salt generator when I first hooked it Up 2 weeks ago worked crazy fast. Got it up to 12ppm in less than a day. Once I added the metal remover stuff it wasn’t doing it near as fast. Made about 5ppm in a day and struggled to keep up. Water comes from the town water company, no well or...
