Extra butterfly gasket for Hayward skimmer install on intex?

I was wondering if it would be an advantage to purchasing a second butterfly gasket and installing one of these gaskets on each side of the pool, rather than cutting the original gasket in half with a razor blade? Any thoughts? It's not a lot of money in the long run. Thanks, PJ:confused:

Opening Intex (First time Opener in MI!)

We have the steel frame Intex (see below), and we never cover our pool over the winter up here in Western Ontario. We get too much snow and wind. We do drain the water below the lowest hole first and take in all of the pumps, etc. We leave the sand filter outside but remove the gauge as it...

    Is there inexpensive pool ladder?

There are usually lots of Intex ladders available. Look on Craigslist or Kijiji or local swap sites. Even ask on these sites. Someone is bound to have one.

Best underlayment for concrete pad for frame pool

SWG Above-ground pool closed wrong in fall, now I've got a mess. Best way to fix it?

If the pool isn't going to collapse, then go ahead and empty it. If you don't empty it, get cleaning! Brush and skim, brush and skim...and if you have any way to vacuum, do that too. Don't expect your sand filter to clean a mess. It is to filter fine particles, not leaves and algae. Good luck!

    26' X 52" Intex Ultra Frame Install

Love your pool! Great job levelling and keeping it sparkly! I did not use a cover this winter (our first winter with the pool) as I was worried all of the snow load would pull the pool down. It worked fine.

Intex owners: did you leave yours up over the winter?

We left our pool up last winter. It made it through just fine. We live in a very very snowy part of Ontario and last winter the entire month of February was so cold that the kids were not allowed to go outside for recess. I did purchase a really good winter cover and then decided against...

    Intex pool always going green

Laura, Go to Canadian Tire. They sell liquid chlorine for $3.99 a jug. It is 12% chlorine. This is a very good price in Canada. Not sure where you live in Canada but this is the price in midwestern Ontario. We add a cup of this a day and we have a very sparkly pool. How long do you leave...

Thanks everyone! Lots of great ideas. I will go out an purchase a backwash hose and either use a hose clamp or a zip-tie. I think I can rig something up using your ideas. PAGirl, thanks for the almost hose. You are so sweet! Hope everyone gets lots of swimming in this weekend! PJ

Proper Hose for Backwashing an Intex?

I have an Intex Ultra Frame with the sand filter and pump combo. For other owners of something similar, what hose or setup do you use when backwashing? I have a black hose with an end that fits inside the outlet but due to the water pressure I have to hold onto it the entire time. There MUST...

Any ideas why my above ground metal frame pool bust and how can I prevent repeat?

Is there any way that someone could be sneaking into your yard and using/abusing your pool? Have you considered purchasing a more permanent type of above ground pool?
