Our small pool has 6 return jets which provide great water circulation. However, the way they are positioned they do break the surface quite a bit and I'd like to adjust them lower so as to not add to the PH rising all the time. I tried to turn the return nozzles (or whatever they're called)...

I've had similar drops twice this year already. In May after torrential rains (est 24") my CYA went down to about 20 (from 90) and again last month, after an accidental water replacement (don't ask), my CYA went from 70 down to less than 20 (I'm guessing about 10). FC was down to about 2PPM...

The R0871 reagent bottle seems to be "leaky" When trying to drop reagent into the tube to test for FC, several drops come out at a time, especially when first turning the bottle over. The previous bottle I had did not have the same issue, so I don't think this is normal. What other options do I...

Hey Mark, looks great! Love the palms. You've created a wonderful looking retreat in your back yard. We're still working on putting our yard back together, just got resodded and sprinkler system fixed. We also ended up with some palms (only 3 though). I'll post a few pics on my build thread...

CYA is relatively low now, rounded up to 40, I'm actually trying to raise it a bit to help combat some of the daily FC loss. My pump is on a timer, runs 7 hours a day.

Unfortunately no cover nor help to add chlorine at this time. Is a floater a better option than using the feeder? Only thinking it would be more of a constant vs only adding chlorine while pump is running?

We will be out of town for a week and I'm looking for suggestions on how to prevent total FC loss and algae growth. I was considering bringing FC up to shock level and putting some Trichlor pucks in the feeder while I'm gone. Any advice?

New pool, so not really a significant trend, but when the PB turned the pool over to me the CYA was at 90. In a couple of weeks after I started using bleach instead of pucks its come down to 30, but keep in mind that included several huge rainfalls. Not sure how it would do in drought.

Was looking on line and see a bunch of different skimmer socks out there and was wondering what other people were using and if they were happy with a certain brand/ type? I also I seem to recall some people using hair nets and was wondering about that. So, do you use a skimmer sock or hair net...

Good point about using the pool math calculator. Is that what the 3" pucks are, 8oz.? If that's the case, 2 should raise my CYA 10 ppm

Quick update: I tested the FC at 10:30 Sunday night and again at 6:30 Monday morning. I dropped 1ppm, so I guess I'm good. So if I want to use the trichlor pucks to raise my cya a bit, whats the best way to do that? I can put some in the feeder and just monitor how fast cya goes up, pulling the...

Ok thanks, I will try the OCLT. The water is clear, with the following test readings... FC 9 (after adding bleach) CC 0 CH 250 TA 90 PH. 7.5 ( after adding MA) CYA 40 (actual level was just a smudge over 30) So for the OCLT, just check FC at night before going to bed and then again first thing...
