CYA is relatively low now, rounded up to 40, I'm actually trying to raise it a bit to help combat some of the daily FC loss. My pump is on a timer, runs 7 hours a day.

Unfortunately no cover nor help to add chlorine at this time. Is a floater a better option than using the feeder? Only thinking it would be more of a constant vs only adding chlorine while pump is running?

We will be out of town for a week and I'm looking for suggestions on how to prevent total FC loss and algae growth. I was considering bringing FC up to shock level and putting some Trichlor pucks in the feeder while I'm gone. Any advice?

New pool, so not really a significant trend, but when the PB turned the pool over to me the CYA was at 90. In a couple of weeks after I started using bleach instead of pucks its come down to 30, but keep in mind that included several huge rainfalls. Not sure how it would do in drought.

Was looking on line and see a bunch of different skimmer socks out there and was wondering what other people were using and if they were happy with a certain brand/ type? I also I seem to recall some people using hair nets and was wondering about that. So, do you use a skimmer sock or hair net...

Good point about using the pool math calculator. Is that what the 3" pucks are, 8oz.? If that's the case, 2 should raise my CYA 10 ppm

Quick update: I tested the FC at 10:30 Sunday night and again at 6:30 Monday morning. I dropped 1ppm, so I guess I'm good. So if I want to use the trichlor pucks to raise my cya a bit, whats the best way to do that? I can put some in the feeder and just monitor how fast cya goes up, pulling the...

Ok thanks, I will try the OCLT. The water is clear, with the following test readings... FC 9 (after adding bleach) CC 0 CH 250 TA 90 PH. 7.5 ( after adding MA) CYA 40 (actual level was just a smudge over 30) So for the OCLT, just check FC at night before going to bed and then again first thing...

PB turned the pool over to me 2-3 weeks ago. At the time CYA was 90 and I was burning off 3-4 PPM of Chlorine each day. I had the Chlorinator turned way low and was adding bleach to compensate for the loss in chlorine. As soon as the PB left, I took the Trichlor tablets out of the feeder and...

Anyone have experience programming run times and speed on IAquaLink website? I'm having trouble figuring out how to do multiple run times and pump speeds. My PB has it set up to run on full power from 9-11 am and then on low (don't know how to tell the speed) from 11- midnight.

Where can I find the best way to set up my VS pump to run (run times, speed etc)? Also since I have the IAquaLink controller where can I get easy to follow instructions on how to make those settings?

Mark, I was wondering if you could let me know who you are using? Are they doing any other work as well? I'm having the hardest time getting a landscaper. They all say yes at first but then I can't a bid.

I can't answer your question, but I'm interested in hearing about using CO2 to regulate Ph. I had never heard of this. I guess if you get to much it would be like swimming in Club Soda :)

Just a quick update. For the last two weeks the pool has been "managed" by PB start up, but I have no idea how often he's been out or what he has done while there (communication is not one of their strong points). He has changed the pump to only run on high for 2 hours/day and then on low for 12...

You are correct, the 85 has a 17 GPD, the 45 Series has the 10GPD pump. It seems that either one would work for me as I would need about 32 oz of chlorine dispensed. Obviously the model 85 would do it in less time, but other than that, what would the difference be between the two pumps?

OK I'm ready to pull the trigger, but still have questions regarding the equipment... 1) I've looked at both the 45MPHP and the 85MPHP Stenner Pumps, (Fixed Rate, 100 PSI, 10GPD). They appear to be charging the same$, so what is the difference, which would be better? 2) Which tube do I need...
