thanks...so when the lights are 'cycling' those clicks I hear are simply a contactor openingm and closing to adjust the lights by powering on and off? That seems to make sense. (IE all the smartness are integrated into the lights...the 'controller' is just a fancy lightswitch?)

Since you have done some researching, and I have not yet. My understanding this will plug into existing Jandy transformer question is is the existing aqualink setup capable of controlling the lights. After 10 years my last Jandy finally gave up.

Final Update for anyone using the search function. Mice Damage over the winter, root cause began when I knocked out a hole in the case while swapping out the newer style tri-sensor in 2018....I did not use a wire grommet or protect the new hole at all (didn't enter my mind) 2024 pool opening...
