Jandy JXI 400N heater high limit fault

So the good news is that I tested both switches. One is open circuit, one is closed. The open circuit is the failed switch. I was wrong in my op when I said I shorted the terminals on the control board that nothing happened. Today I shorted it and the heater started to fire up. The...

Jandy JXI 400N heater high limit fault

I think this is one of the two limit switches, lower right. One on either side of this "header" assembly. I should be able to test this with an ohm meter right? Isn't the switch normally closed?

Jandy JXI 400N heater high limit fault

I'm getting a high limit fault. The heater is not coming on at all. I understand there are limit switches. I haven't taken it apart enough so far to see where those are to inspect. My question is how can I test if it really is the limit switches? I saw a circuit diagram on the panel that...

Test results, where do I go?

Yeah, the cya was much higher when I moved in, plus we've had a drought. So it's taken a long time to bring it down. I've been in the middle of the good ranges except for that. I suppose I was just wondering if there was any use to move any one parameter within that range. For example...

Test results, where do I go?

My numbers from today are below. I've had this pool for about 10 months. I really need to drain the pool to bring down the cya, but Houston is charging me an arm and leg for water. I've been draining it down just before a rain, and slowly it's coming down after the previous owner dumping...

Liquid Chlorine Cost Increase @ Home Depot

We just lost Napco, the best supplier in Houston. They got bought out, and now only sell commercial. I just found Patriot Cleaning Supply in Katy, off Mason rd. Daniel just started, and he is selling 12.5% bleach for $3/gal. Looks like he has a great operation selling to pressure washers and...

New bleach supplier in Katy TX.

With Napco not selling retail anymore, I had to find a new supplier, and it turns out we have a new one. Patriot Cleaning Supply in Katy, off Mason rd. Daniel just started, and he is selling 12.5% bleach for $3/gal. Looks like he has a great operation selling to pressure washers and retail...

https://aamfg.com/product/wave-water-actuated-valve/ Yeah I just found this. This pool has some sort of pop up valves on the bottom. I guess this device controls that. This seems pretty nice. It blows any debris up to the surface where it may get picked up by the skimmer.

Still a few more questions if you guys can bear with me. What is this ball valve for on the return from the tablet chlorinator? Also, what is this circular device to the left of the chlorinator?

Ok, so now let's look at this nonsense. It's got a UV system. I thought it was BS when I first saw it, and confirmed that by doing a quick search here before I bought the house. How does the plumbing work here though? Looks like it's coming out of the filter in and out of the heater. I...
