NEW Blue Surf Pebble Sheen color

Anyone have a picture of a Surf Blue pool filled with water? We are plastering next week and we are trying to decide between Aqua Blue and Surf Blue. We want blue the pool color at depth but would also like to have the blue color (vs gray) in the shallower areas like the sun deck (6" depth). We are afraid that if we go with Surf Blue it will be too dark. Anyone have any thoughts on this?

Ritchie: My PB dropped by a sample of Blue Surf over the weekend. With TFP down yesterday, I didn't get to post these photos. The site still seems a bit sluggish this morning, so I have no idea if these will post, but I'm trying. By the time the PB came by with the sample, I had decided to go with Blue Granite. He still wanted to leave the sample with me. He thinks it will be gorgeous.

I included the other samples that have been my major contenders. The samples have all been soaked in water all day yesterday and last night. But..... it looks like the older colors, and samples, may be really old and not absorbing the water well. I'm not sure how good this comparison is.... I guess it's something. I'm still going with Blue Granite. It's tried and true. The Blue Surf looks darker than the Blue Granite (I don't want anything darker than BG). I'm concerned the darker color may get the water too warm for me in Houston. I wish I could say I had seen it in a pool, but I haven't. Even our Texas PebbleTec rep hasn't seen it in person. My PB told me our local PebbleTec applicator company has 3 ordered, but he doesn't know when their turn for plaster will be. If I hear of anything new, I'll post on this thread. Wish I were more helpful!! Take care and good luck! Suz.

ps. sending without reviewing since it takes too long with the site running slowly.

We were originally thinking about Aqua Blue .. but the Blue Surf seems to be a tad darker.

It could warm up the pool a little bit more, but we have the IceBreaker cooling system. May turn it on for a short while if the pool gets too warm :p

Love it! I think you should put them in the bathtub in a foot of water and show us! You know, because you love us and have nothing better to do.

I am pretty confident now after seeing trbvm's photos that we'll be going with the blue surf. I showed my wife the photos and she likes it too. We'll still want to see samples in person but I love the blue of the plaster better on the blue surf over aqua blue. We wanted our pool to be "blue" and that is why we went with the Aqua Blue but now we think the Blue Surf really does meet what we wanted more than the Aqua Blue.

Super! I now have more than one to pass on the Smurf Torch! I wish I were so brave. I wish someone would get it installed before my plaster comes up! I heard yesterday, our plaster company is 2-3 weeks behind as of now. And they're forecasting more rain for our area Saturday through Tuesday!!!! Can hardly believe it. So....... maybe some of you will have the Blue Surf in time to see pictures! LOL!!! Keep us posted. Take care. Suz.

Suz, I heard the same thing about "our" plaster company :( My PB said I was on their list - but they are very behind, that normally he has a list, or schedule - but right now they call him either in the evening or early morning to tell him which jobs they are doing. I am hoping I get it next week - but I am not at all confident! I hate waiting! For some reason, in my head I just KNEW they would be here bright and early this morning. But I woke up and got my coffee and watched and waited and now here I am at work, peering out the window. No workers. I guess if they wait long enough someone on here will get the smurf and we can go look at it first!

I wish mine would move that fast but I am still not even at shotcrete stage yet. Electric is supposedly happening today. My shotcrete is scheduled for next week. Then I have decking, landscaping, etc... before we get to the plaster so you are WAY ahead of me.

The good news for you, is that you are ON the list. It could very well be that you will get plaster sooner than Paris or I will. I say that because Paris's and my PB told me over the weekend that he doesn't put us on the list until he is sure we are ready - he doesn't call MMG until he thinks we are 2-3 weeks out. In my mind that means, we could be 6 weeks out. Also, I wonder how many builders do put people on the list who really aren't ready in hopes it will get them in earlier. Maybe that's why MMG is now just calling right before. If they can't reach someone or the builder is behind and the pool isn't ready, MMG just keeps going down the list.

Trying to give you more hope that you will have plaster sooner than you think! And your PB is really on the ball with everything. Your pool is ready and your PB won't miss a call! Keep that optimism going - look for those trucks every morning!! Suz.

I can understand that. You have to protect the largest client. Its business. I don't know how many pools my PB does a year - but I can't imagine it is that many!

Not sure if it makes any difference to anyone. But, I would have definitely went with the blue surf over the blue granite for my pool. The blue granite is nice but very grey on our large baja shelf.

I think the grey in the shallow will look great if there is lots of vegetation around the pool...like our Texas friends have. But in the desert, the pool is surrounded by brown and in our case, the WALL! Eventually, I might stucco the wall and hang something there.
On shallow ends, the blue contrasts better (than the grey) with the desert brown and gives a fresh look... just IMHO - personal preference.

I have a feeling if I were to see it in a pool, I would go with it, I'm just too scared without at least pictures of a pool!
