I cannot get my chlorine generator to work at all. We just drained, cleaned, and refilled the pool. Spent nearly $2000 on a new filter. Now the chlorine won’t work. I am not sure if it has since we moved in. It shuts off due to high temperature and is reading my water at about 150f. True temp is probably about 80f. The cell is relatively clean. I have dumped so much money into this pool and there are zero competent pool service people near me who can help. I am desperate. Please help!

I hope an expert will contradict me, but looking at the diagram in the SWG manual, the end with the cable is on the return side. Your picture shows the other way around. Is it plumbed in backward?

Never mind (I guess). A diagram later in the manual shows the other way around.

This is interesting info… I can’t open your link, but the guy who installed the new filter redid all the plumbing. I really hope he didn’t do it backwards…

I’m not sure…. It came with the house and we are pool noobs
That is not a Hayward cell. It is a 3rd party cell that does not look to be compatible with your system.

Both your temperature and amps are too high. Amps should be in the mid 6s and never above 10.

Link is fixed. Also, found a later diagram where the plumbing is shown the other way around. I got the SWG type from your signature. If it's actually not the Aquarite pro, ignore all.

Just looking for a cell with the same appearance, this looks like a match.

We have had other members have problems with their cells and their systems worked properly when they used a genuine Hayward cell.

Says it’s compatible for but idk. I don’t see an option to change amps

No way to change amps. The system determines the amps based on what it sees with the cell.

The temperature sensor is probably bad.

The amps are over 8.0, which might mean that the salinity is very high.

You don't think the amps are high because the temperature sensor is high?

Could this be one of the Hayward boards with a 10 amp limit rather than 8?
