Zodiac MX6 question

I have the MX6 and in-line leaf catcher. I have the speed set to the correct revolution per 10 seconds. My skimmer spends a lot of time popping wheelies. Meaning not flat against surface doing its job. I even find it scooting around on its side sometimes with one track in the air. I also battle the hose wrapping around the catcher or one loop in it so it can’t reach all points. Are there extra swivel adapters that can be added?

I've got one of those in one pool, and an AX10 (similar) in another. There's every chance it's related to your water circulation pattern (the aiming of your return jets). You could try playing around with those. You could also adjust the speed to the high end of the recommended range.

If the speed is right, this is likely not it, but the MX6, MX8 and AX10 get fouled by long stringy stuff like palm droppings which need to be cleaned out of the paddles.

There's a float attached to the hose, fairly close to the cleaner. The other thing to try is moving that a bit further from the cleaner.

I see them doing wheelies and side stands every now and then as well, but overall they get the job done.

If it's plugged into your regular pool-side skimmer, you can take off the leaf canister, and the leaves will be collected there. If it's plugged into a dedicated suction port, then the leaves will end up in the pump basket without the leaf canister. Just a personal preference kind of thing, or doing whichever is the least bother.
